Thirty-one pounds of pharmaceuticals was collected at the conference.

San Francisco Estuary Partnership is holding a No Drugs Down the Drain medicine disposal event at State of the San Francisco Estuary Conference this year. Bring your expired or unwanted medication to the registration desk for responsible disposal.

Instructions

We cannot accept controlled substances. No sharps or inhalers accepted.

Please bring all medications in original containers. Black out your personal information with a marker. Over-the-counter or prescription drugs are accepted (as long as they are not controlled substances). Controlled substances are prescription medications such as vicodin, codeine, or valium. About the campaign

No Drugs Down the Drain is a series of medicine disposal events sponsored by local agencies, to provide an alternative to flushing drugs down the drain. The events, now in their third year, are helping spread the message that it's no longer wise to flush medication or put it in the garbage.
